A long-time Powerball fan got lucky when his ticket for the June 25 drawing matched four out of five white-ball numbers, as well as the Powerball number, to win a $50,000 prize.
The player explained he purchased the ticket at QuikTrip, 1450 N.E. Highway 291 in Lee’s Summit, and never imagined he would win.
“I play in pretty much every drawing,” the winner said. “I’ve won a bunch of smaller prizes but never something like this!
“It was pretty unbelievable,” he added. “It was pretty exciting.”
The winning numbers on June 25 were 2, 12, 37, 51 and 61 with a Powerball number of 22.
Powerball is a multi-state Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. This Saturday’s jackpot is estimated at $234 million.
In FY24, players in Jackson County won more than $109.8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $9.8 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $22 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
