The Missouri Lottery's Commitment

Since sales began in 1986, the Missouri Lottery has been steadfast in pursuing a responsibly-driven business designed to maximize profits for public education and entertain its players responsibly.

The Lottery's core values — Entertainment, Diversity, Customer-Focused, Integrity and Innovation — act as the guiding principles behind every decision the Lottery makes. Operating a business focused on the protection of the public it serves maintains the integrity of the institution, while aspiring to be innovative drives the institution to be better.

This mindset is the driving force behind the Lottery's responsible gaming program. Guided by its responsible gaming policy, the Missouri Lottery aims to use fact-based research as the foundation behind initiatives to train employees, create sound products, market responsibly, educate players and engage with stakeholders to seek continuous improvement.

How to Play Responsibly

Playing the Missouri Lottery can be a fun and exciting form of entertainment, and doing so responsibly can help ensure that Lottery games remain just games. Follow these tips to be a low-risk gambler:

Time and Money Limits

Set time and dollar limits - a specific amount of time and money you can afford to spend - and stop when you reach your limits

Winning & Losing

Remember that winning and losing are both parts of gambling

Entertainment

View gambling as another form of entertainment, not a way to make money

Financial Responsibility

Do not borrow money to gamble
