A combination of dates and special numbers led a Missouri Lottery Player to win $50,000 in the June 14 Powerball drawing. His ticket matched four out of five white-ball numbers, as well as the Powerball number drawn that night. The winning numbers were: 4, 6, 9, 23 and 59, with a Powerball of 25.
While returning to Price Chopper, 501 Schug Ave. in Peculiar, he checked the ticket and was surprised when ‘See Lottery Office’ appeared on the screen.
“I took the ticket to the lady in the office at Price Chopper,” chuckled the winner. “After she checked the numbers, she whispered, ‘You won big. Sign the ticket!’”
The winner left the store in disbelief to share the news with his wife.
“After all these years!” his wife laughed.
Powerball is a multi-state game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. This Saturday’s jackpot is estimated at $155 million.
In FY24, players in Cass County won more than $16.8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.5 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $7.5 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
