For a Missouri Lottery player in Jackson County, a $55,558 win on a “Cash Box Bingo” ticket created a day he will always remember.
The player purchased the winning ticket at Big B’s, 3800 E. Gregory Blvd. in Kansas City, before taking it home to scratch it.
“I was shocked!” the winner said.
He showed the ticket to his girlfriend who didn’t believe him at first. He remedied that by having it scanned at retail.
“I had to take her to the store and when they showed her, that’s when she really realized,” he said.
Players have already won over $1.8 million playing “Cash Box Bingo” since it began on March 3. There are currently an additional $9.4 million remaining in unclaimed prizes, including four additional prizes of $55,558.
In FY24, players in Jackson County won more than $109.8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $9.8 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $22 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
