Coworkers Split $100,000 Powerball Power Play Prize

Nov. 30, 2023

Two coworkers in Buchanan County split a $100,000 prize after one of them suggested adding Power Play to their Powerball ticket. A $1 add-on option, Power Play multiplies prize amounts on non-jackpot wins.

Their ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers drawn, plus the Powerball, to win a base prize of $50,000. The prize was instantly doubled when the Power Play number drawn was 2.

The winning numbers drawn on Nov. 13 were: 24, 33, 35, 37 and 42, with a Powerball of 21.

One of the winners explained they selected their numbers using special dates, such as family members’ birthdates.

“We’ve been playing these numbers a little over 20 years,” she shared.

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is estimated at $400 million. If the jackpot is hit, the “Jackpot Reset” promotion will be activated – giving players who buy three Powerball plays on a single ticket a free $2 Powerball ticket.

Players who purchased tickets in Buchanan County in FY23 won more than $16.1 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers in the county received more than $1.6 million in commissions and bonuses, and education programs received more than $5.4 million in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
