A Missouri Lottery player’s last-second decision to play Show Me Cash led to an $807,000 prize in the Nov. 10 drawing.
He was at QuikTrip, 13100 Holmes Road in Kansas City, when he decided to purchase the ticket.
“I love Show Me Cash. I play it all the time,” the winner said. “But that night I almost decided not to get it, but something kept pushing me to get it.”
When he checked his numbers following the drawing, he almost couldn’t contain his reaction.
“I wanted to scream! I wanted to yell! But I didn’t want to scare my wife, who was sitting a couple of feet away from me,” he said.
He then handed his wife the ticket instead, to make sure he was correct.
“She was just holding her face and asking me if this was a joke, and I said, ‘No! I swear!’” he added.
He also shared plans to use some of the money to take a vacation with his family to the coast.
Show Me Cash is drawn daily at 8:59 p.m. Tonight’s jackpot is estimated at $131,000. The winning numbers for the Nov. 10 drawing were 3, 13, 21, 22 and 39.
In FY23, players in Jackson County won more than $108.7 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $9.9 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $15.5 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
