An ordinary day turned into something unexpected when a Missouri Lottery player purchased a “Break the Bank” Scratchers ticket at Casey’s, 701 E. Ohio St., in Clinton. To her amazement, she found she had uncovered one of the game’s $100,000 top prizes.
“I was so surprised I didn’t know if it was real at first,” the winner said.
It was only after she scanned it at the check-a-ticket machine at the store that she was convinced the win was for real.
“I was shocked but very happy!” she said.
“Break the Bank” players have already won over $5.8 million in prizes since the game began on April 28. Over $12.6 million remain in unclaimed prizes, including four more top prizes of $100,000.
Players who purchased tickets in Henry County last fiscal year won more than $4.4 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers received more than $358,000 in commissions and bonuses, and education programs in the county received more than $377,000 in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
