Using winnings from previous tickets, a Missouri Lottery player bought a “300X” Scratchers ticket that turned out to be worth $100,000. He made the winning purchase at Midway Auto Truck Plaza, 6401 W. Highway 40, in Columbia.
“I had a couple of tickets I was turning in when I noticed there were five ‘300X’ tickets left,” he explained. “I figured I would try one.”
The winner shared he didn’t believe it was real when he first uncovered the $100,000 prize.
“I thought most big winning tickets would have a symbol or something, and this was just one number – 18!” he said.
After realizing that one lucky number really had translated into a $100,000 win, he claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City.
Players of the “300X” game have won over $53.6 million in prizes since the $30 game was released. There are still over $53.6 million in prizes unclaimed, including two top prizes of $3 million and one additional $100,000 prize.
In FY24, players in Boone County won more than $23.9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $2.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $53.2 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
