While on the way to go fishing with his brother, a Missouri Lottery player stopped by Zips Fuel Expresso, 13920 S. 71 Highway in Grandview, and decided to pick up a “Deck the Halls” Scratchers ticket.
“I play sometimes,” the player said. “So I just decided to pick up one to play that day.”
Upon scratching off the ticket, he quickly realized he had won one of four $50,000top prizes offered in the game.
“I was just like, ‘Thank you ,Jesus!’” he said.
“Deck the Halls” is a $3 Scratchers game that offers prizes ranging from $3 to $50,000. Currently, there are over $4.7 million in unclaimed prizes in the game, including two more top prizes of $50,000.
In FY22, players in Jackson County won more than $103.1 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $9.3 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $50.2 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
