A Missouri Lottery player patiently waited for her co-worker to arrive to verify she had won a $50,000 top prize on a “$50,000 Cash Quest” Scratchers ticket.
“I was by myself when I scratched the ticket. I was so excited, I checked it and rechecked it like 10 times!” the winner giggled. “Then I waited for a co-worker and had her check it, too.”
After they both had a chance to look, she took the ticket back to the clerk at Signal, 402 W. Mt. Vernon St., in Nixa.
“I took it to the clerk I bought it from and asked her, ‘Could you check this and tell me it says what I think it says?’’ she explained.
The winner shared plans to take her family on a beach vacation with her winnings.
So far, “$50,000 Cash Quest” players have won more than $5.5 million in prizes. Currently, there are still more than $3.3 million in prizes unclaimed – including another $50,000 prize.
In FY24, players in Christian County won more than $10.1 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $4.3 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
