$100,000 Scratchers Prize Brightens Winners Day

May. 28, 2025

The day got a little brighter for a Missouri Lottery after winning $100,000 on a “Big Riches” Scratchers ticket he purchased at Eagle Stop, 101 N. Highway 63, in Freeburg.

“I scratched the barcode first,” the winner shared. “Then I scanned it to see if I won.”

Once he saw he would need to claim his prize at a Missouri Lottery office, he began scratching the rest of the ticket.

“I was having a bad day,” he said. “Then I saw the win symbol and couldn’t believe it!”

So far, “Big Riches” players have won more than $109.4 million in prizes. Over $34.8 million in prizes are still unclaimed, including a top prize of $3 million and one additional $100,000 prize.

In FY24, players in Osage County won more than $1.2 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $135,800 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $734,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
