2024 Missouri Lottery Barns & Bridges Calendar Photo Contest

  1. Only photographs incorporating the following theme will be considered: Barns and bridges in Missouri. The photos that best capture this theme (while following the official rules) will be evaluated for a chance to appear in the 2023 calendar.
  2. Photos submitted must be original by the submitting photographer.
  3. Photographs may be entered into the contest by accessing a link posted on the Missouri Lottery’s Facebook page, Twitter feed or website by fully completing the entry form.
  4. Each photograph selected for the calendar must be accompanied by a contest entry form that includes the photographer’s complete name, home address, date of birth, email address, daytime phone number and description of submitted photo. The entry form MUST be signed and dated. Incomplete or illegible entries may be disqualified.
  5. Description of photo must include the location depicted in the photo and a brief description, as applicable.
  6. Photographs and accompanying contest entry forms must be uploaded by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31. The Missouri Lottery is not responsible for submissions received after the deadline.
  7. Multiple photo submissions are allowed, but each photo must be accompanied by a separate contest entry form and description.
  8. All photographs submitted that meet the photo guidelines and official rules will be considered.  Up to 13 photographs may be selected as winners – one for each month, plus a cover photo. All first-prize published photo contest winners (months January through December) will receive $100 worth of Missouri Lottery Scratchers, a photo credit in the 2024 calendar and a copy of the 2024 calendar. The grand-prize photo winner (calendar cover) will receive $500 cash, a photo credit in the 2024 calendar and a copy of the 2024 calendar. The Missouri Lottery reserves the right to award less than 13 prizes in this calendar contest.
  9. Imprinted data such as date, time, etc., cannot appear on the photo.
  10. Photos with at least 300 dpi (dots per inch) are preferred. All photos must be in sharp focus. All digitally submitted photos must be uploaded with the highest available photo quality option.
  11. All photos must be in a horizontal format. Vertically formatted photographs are ineligible.
  12. People shown in photographs must be completely unrecognizable, and no children may be visible.  Final determination of eligibility will be determined by the Missouri Lottery.
  13. The Missouri Lottery will have the right, without further compensation (other than the prize advertised) or notification, to use the photos in any Lottery publication, Scratchers game, media (all forms), promotion or website.
  14. The Missouri Lottery reserves the right to publish winners’ names, hometowns and/or photographs for publicity purposes without any claim for broadcasting, Internet (to include social media), print, other rights or further compensation.
  15. The Missouri Lottery is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, altered or illegible contest entries.
  16. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older.
  17. An entrant may not win more than two prizes in this contest. 
  18. If applicable, any additional local, state, federal or other taxes, expenses or surcharges associated with the prizes not mentioned in these rules are the responsibility of the winner.
  19. Prize winners will be notified of their prize via email once the final determination has been made. Finalists may be contacted via phone, email or postal mail prior to final prize notification to confirm the information and spelling of the photographer and location information in the photo for publishing purposes.
  20. Prizes will be mailed to the winners at the address provided on the completed contest entry forms.
  21. Each person entering this promotion agrees by the act of participation to be bound by these rules and procedures, statutes, administrative rules and procedures of the Missouri Lottery.
  22. The Missouri Lottery cannot mail scratchers tickets out of state; therefore, if the winner lives out of state, they must arrange to have their prize shipped to a Missouri address, or forfeit the prize.
  23. This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Twitter. Participants agree to a complete release of Facebook and Twitter.

  25. These rules may be modified at any time at the sole discretion of the Missouri Lottery.
  26. Per Missouri Lottery Policy, employees are not eligible to play or participate in any Missouri Lottery promotion. This includes the immediate family of the Lottery employee living in the same household.
