A Missouri Lottery player in Pettis County won a $100,000 Powerball prize in the July 1 drawing. What would have normally been a $50,000 win became a $100,000 prize due to her decision to add the Power Play option to her ticket. The feature allows for non-jackpot prizes to be multiplied by the Power Play number drawn.

“I always add Power Play to my tickets,” the winner explained.

The winning numbers on July 1 were 2, 6, 26, 39 and 68, with a Powerball number of 6. The ticket matched four of five white-ball numbers drawn, as well as the Powerball number, to win a base prize of $50,000. Since she also added the Power Play option, the prize was instantly doubled when the multiplier number drawn was 2.

“I was really tickled!” she laughed.

The winning ticket was sold at Woods Supermarket, 1400 S. Limit Ave., in Sedalia.

In FY25, players in Pettis County won more than $8.1 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $785,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $7.3 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
