A Missouri Lottery player is still stunned after uncovering a $100,000 top prize on a “TETRIS” Scratchers ticket in Columbia.

The winner and her wife had stopped at Rocket, 3850 E. Rangeline St., to grab a soda and a Scratchers ticket – a common combo for the couple.

An unexpectedly eventful car ride ensued.

“I’m just there scratching as she’s driving, and I’m like, ‘I think we just won $100,000!’” the winner exclaimed.

Her wife chimed in, detailing her disbelief.

“She said that to me, and I just said, ‘I’ll look at it when we get home. I can’t deal with this while I’m driving!” she laughed.

Once parked safely, they gave the ticket a closer look.

“We sat in the car, and I looked at it to confirm all the pieces were there,” her wife recalled. “And then I scanned it and it was like, ‘Congrats! Claim Your Prize at the Lottery’ and I was like ‘OMG, dude!’”

In FY25, Boone County players won more than $25.8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $2.3 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $52 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
