Scratchers Player Plans Vacation with $86,000 Win

Jun 08, 2026

A Missouri Lottery player in St. Louis County uncovered an $86,000 prize on a “40th Anniversary” Scratchers ticket. He bought the winning ticket at QuikTrip, 10793 Page Ave., in St. Louis.

The winner said he had played the $20 game before, seeing occasional wins.

“I’d been winning $100 here and there on this one,” he shared.

This time, he was shocked to discover one of the Scratchers’ four $86,000 prizes, which commemorates the Lottery’s first game in 1986.

He said he and his wife plan to pay off a few bills and take a nice vacation.

Since the game’s release in late December, players have won more than $28.7 million in prizes on “40th Anniversary” across the state. More than $22.1 million in prizes have yet to be claimed on the ticket – including two additional $86,000 prizes, a $100,000 prize, and a $2 million top prize.

In FY25, St. Louis County players won more than $195.9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $18.8 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $47.9 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
