A Missouri Lottery player dug up a $100,000 prize on a “24K Gold” Scratchers ticket in Cass County. He bought the winning ticket at Raymore Smokes & Liquor, 101 S. Madison Ave., in Raymore.

The winner was particularly fond of the game, explaining he’d won smaller prizes on it in the past.

He recalled, “I hadn’t seen it in a while, so when I was in the gas station, I saw that yellow and said, ‘Ooh, 24K Gold!’”

He initially thought he’d won back the $20 cost of the ticket after scratching off a prize spot — but the winning didn’t stop there.

“The most I’ve ever won was $1,000, so it was a little bit of a shock,” he laughed.

Among other items, the winner said he plans to purchase some household appliances and use the rest of his winnings to enjoy retirement.

In FY25, Cass County players won more than $14.5 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $6.4 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
