A Missouri Lottery player in Cole County went right to his supervisor after winning a $50,000 Powerball prize in the May 23 drawing.

“The first person I told was my boss because I knew I was going to leave early,” the winner chuckled. “I was shaking a little bit.”

His ticket, purchased at Harry’s Place Cafeteria, 301 W. High St. in Jefferson City, matched four of the five white-ball numbers, as well as the Powerball number. The winning numbers were 4, 16, 41, 48 and 66, and the Powerball number was 26.

In FY25, players in Cole County won more than $16.1 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.3 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $5.5 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
