A lucky couple in Jefferson County is $50,000 richer after the husband gifted his wife a “Gold Rush” Scratchers that held a $50,000 prize. He purchased the winning ticket at On The Run, 1111 Main St., in Imperial.

“The ticket was a gift,” the wife explained. “My husband chose it. He’s the lucky one!”

She shared she was scratching the ticket in the kitchen when she realized she’d won.

“Every single one of my numbers was a match, or a ‘WIN’ symbol, where you automatically win. I was stunned!”

In FY25, Jefferson County players won more than $40.4 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $3.6 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $19.1 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
