A Show Me Cash ticket purchased in Mexico for the April 10 drawing resulted in a $154,000 jackpot prize. It would be a while, however, before the winner claimed his prize, not discovering the win until several weeks later.

“Once I get a small stack of tickets, I take them in and scan them,” the winner explained. “I had two small winners, and then I scanned this one and it said, ‘See the Lottery.’”

Since he had not seen that message before, he took the ticket to the cashier and asked what it meant.

“She told me I had won more than $600 and needed to go to the Lottery to cash it,” he continued. “I thought maybe I matched four of the numbers.”

To his surprise, after double-checking the ticket he had purchased at Moser’s Foods, 1101 W. Monroe in Mexico, he learned he had matched all five winning numbers – 8, 11, 15, 23 and 39.

“I had heard that (Moser’s) had a $150,000 winner, but I didn’t think it was me!” he laughed. “I might have to start checking my tickets sooner!” 

Show Me Cash drawings are held daily at 8:59 p.m., with jackpots starting at $50,000 and growing until won. Tonight’s jackpot is estimated at $355,000.

During FY25 players in Audrain County won more than $4.3 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $418,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $805,000 in Lottery proceeds went to educational programs in the county.
