A Missouri Lottery player was excited to share the news he had become an instant millionaire when he discovered he’d won a $5 million top prize on a “500X Payout” Scratchers ticket.

“I came home and told my parents, ‘Guys, your son’s a millionaire!’” the winner laughed.  “It was close to April Fool’s Day, and they thought it was a prank at first.”

However, a closer look at the ticket he purchased at QuikTrip, 11444 St. Charles Rock Road in Bridgeton, proved it was no joke.

 “When they saw I didn’t match numbers but uncovered the ‘500 X’ (on a $10,000 prize), they weren’t expecting that,” he added. “So yeah, it’s a big shock!”

So far, “500X Payout” players have won over $19 million in prizes since the $50 game was released in March. Currently, more than $241.2 million in unclaimed prizes remain, including two additional $5 million prizes and three $1 million prizes.

  During FY25 players in St. Louis County won more than $195.9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $18.8 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $47.9 million in Lottery proceeds went to educational programs in the county.
