Whim Leads to $100,000 Win for Randolph County Scratchers Player

May 11, 2026

A Missouri Lottery player couldn’t believe her eyes after scratching a $5 ticket to reveal a $100,000 prize. Her reason for choosing the “MONOPOLY Doubler” Scratchers ticket?

“It was just out of a whim!” she shared.

The player explained that she and her husband had stopped at Get it N’ Go Express South, 730 S. Morley St. in Moberly, while running errands, and she chose the lucky ticket simply because she hadn’t played it before.

She didn’t play the ticket right away, though.

“I kinda forgot about it. I had stuck it in my wallet,” she remembered. “We finished what we were doing, and I thought, ‘Oh, let me go grab those out of my wallet.’”

The win that followed came as a huge shock.

“I said, ‘Am I reading this right?’” she recalled.

Her husband chimed in, recounting the moment from his point of view.

“She had me scared because she called me, and I was like, ‘What’s wrong? What’s goin’ on?’”

Sure enough, she had matched all five of the winning numbers on the ticket, resulting in one of the game’s $100,000 top prizes.

To date, players have won more than $11.9 million in prizes on “MONOPOLY Doubler” tickets. Two additional $100,000 prizes remain unclaimed in the game.

In FY25, Randolph County players won more than $5.9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $479,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $1.2 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
