$50,000 Powerball Winner's Family in Disbelief

Mar 10, 2026

A Missouri Lottery player had to convince his family he’d won a $50,000 Powerball prize on a ticket purchased at QuikTrip, 501 E. North Ave., in Belton.

After realizing his ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers, as well as the Powerball number in the Feb. 11 drawing, he looked on the Missouri Lottery website to see what he’d won.

“I called my wife and told her to come to my office and had her look at it,” he recalled. “She goes, ‘Yeah, you got four numbers and the Powerball. How much did you win? $1,000?”

“I scrolled down the website and showed her - $50,000!”

His daughter was also skeptical.

“My daughter didn’t believe me. She had to call her mom to find out!” he laughed.

The winning numbers on Feb. 11 were 6, 20, 33, 40 and 48, and the Powerball number was 5.

In FY25, players in Cass County won more than $14.5 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $6.4 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
