A Missouri Lottery player uncovered a $50,000 top prize while playing a “Cosmic Crossword” Scratchers ticket she purchased at Steve & Garrett’s, 205 Highway 21, in Pilot Knob.

“I’m just flabbergasted!” the winner laughed. “I stopped at Steve & Garrett’s for gas last night and saw a $50,000 winning ticket was sold there and thought, ‘That’s me!’”

So far, “Cosmic Crossword” Scratchers players have won more than $2.5 million in prizes since the $3 game was released the end of December. Over $10.8 million in prizes remain, including seven additional top prizes of $50,000.

In FY25, players in Iron County won more than $1.8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $164,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $94,500 in Lottery proceeds went to educational programs in the county.
