A Missouri Lottery player who won a $50,000 prize in Pike County said her mother helped her pick out the winning “500X” ticket. 

“I was looking at tickets, and she actually recommended I get that one,” the winner said. 

She made the lucky purchase at FastLane, 606 N. Business Highway 61 in Bowling Green, before taking it home and discovering she’d won one of the 50 $50,000 prizes offered in the game.

“I was shocked!” she said. “My mom was shocked, too!”

Though she admitted her mom was jealous, the winner said she already had plans to share some of the win with her mother. 

“I, of course, will take care of her and for a vacation,” she said.   

Since “500X” sales began, players have won over $211.5 million in prizes playing the $50 game. Over $46.1 million remain in unclaimed prizes, including a top prize of $5 million and six additional prizes of $50,000. 

Players who purchased tickets in Pike County last fiscal year won more than $2.7 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers received more than $282,000 in commissions and bonuses, and education programs in the county received more than $1.1 million in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
