Knowing that crossword Scratchers tickets are one of his adult daughter’s favorite games, a Missouri Lottery player purchased a “Mystery Prize Crossword” Scratchers ticket for her at Wildcat Corner, 817 S. Neosho Blvd., in Neosho.

“At first, she thought we had won $10,000. As I was looking it over, I noticed there was an “R” at the top that was missed,” the father explained, noting the singular letter led the way to a top-prize win. “That gave us 10 words and $100,000!”

So far, “Mystery Prize Crossword” players have won more than $4.3 million in prizes since the $5 ticket was released in December. Over $12.7 million in prizes currently remain unclaimed, including five additional $100,000 top prizes and four $10,000 prizes.

In FY25, players in Newton County won more than $6 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $595,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $10.6 million in Lottery proceeds went to educational programs in the county.
