St. Louis Powerball Player 'Speechless' Following $50,000 Win

Jan 26, 2026

A Missouri Lottery player in St. Louis was at a loss for words after scanning his Powerball ticket at the local grocery store.

“I’ve never had one say ‘Claim at Lottery Office,’ so I knew it was kind of special. My wife and I were looking at each other and were like, ‘Are we reading this wrong?’” he laughed. “We were speechless to say.”

The ticket he’d purchased at Schnucks Market, 10650 Olive Blvd. in St. Louis, matched four of the five white-ball numbers, as well as the Powerball number, to win $50,000 in the Jan. 14 drawing.

The winning numbers that night were 6, 24, 39, 43 and 51, and the Powerball number was 2.

In FY25, players in St. Louis County won more than $195.9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $18.8 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $47.9 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
