Creve Coeur Powerball Player Wins $50,000, Hugs Clerk

Jan 08, 2026

The decision of a Missouri Lottery player in St. Louis County to purchase a Powerball ticket for the Nov. 19 drawing led to a $50,000 prize – and a sweet moment with the clerk that sold him the ticket.

“There’s one clerk that sold me the ticket and told me to invite him to a party if I won,” the winner shared. “Even though I didn’t throw a party, I still wanted to say thank you to him.”

So the next time he went to the store, the winner went up to the clerk and told him the good news.

“He was so excited for me and we hugged,” he said.

“I just bought a Quick Pick ticket,” he added when he later claimed his prize at the Missouri Lottery’s St. Louis regional office. “And I was only one number off the big one!”

The winning ticket purchased at Lindbergh & Ladue, 1 S. Lindbergh Blvd. in Creve Coeur, matched four of the white-ball numbers drawn, as well as the Powerball number.

The winning numbers that night were 10, 31, 49, 51 and 68 with a Powerball number of 19.

Powerball is a multi-state Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. Saturday’s drawing has an estimated jackpot of $124 million.

In FY25, players in St. Louis County won more than $195.9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $18.8 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $47.9 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
