Sep 08, 2025

A Missouri Lottery player who bought a Powerball ticket for the Sept. 6 drawing at QuikTrip, 12110 Lusher Road in St. Louis, matched all six numbers drawn to split a $1.787 BILLION jackpot prize with another winning ticket in Texas.

“It was a record setting night for the Missouri Lottery, with the $893.5 million prize ranking as the highest jackpot prize won in Missouri to date,” said Executive Director Lester Elder. “It exceeds the previous record of $293.7 million from a Powerball drawing held in November 2012.”

It was also a record run for Powerball, extending to 42 drawings before the jackpot was won. During that time, sales of Powerball tickets in Missouri generated approximately $16.9 million for public education in the state, and Missouri retailers earned $2.5 million in commissions for selling the game.

The winning numbers for Saturday, Sept. 6, were 11, 23, 44, 61 and 62 with a Powerball number of 17. Draw Games winners have exactly 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. In this case, the winner has until March 5.

The ticketholder may choose between two claiming options: receiving the prize in one lump-sum payment of $410.3 million; or receiving the full amount of $893.5 million in 30 graduated annuity payments. Both prize options are before taxes.
