After discovering she won a $189,000 Show Me Cash jackpot, a Missouri Lottery player stated she knew exactly how she intends to spend some of the money.

“I plan to visit St. Jude’s Hospital and purchase gifts for all the children,” she explained. “Helping children and their families is my passion.”

The winner found out she had won the jackpot prize in the June 27 drawing when she returned to QuikTrip, 6551 E. Front St. in Kansas City, to have the clerk check her ticket. The winning numbers for that night’s drawing were 13, 15, 24, 26 and 39. 

“She looked at me and said, ‘I have never, never seen someone win this much!’” the winner giggled, recalling the clerk’s reaction. “I just couldn’t believe it! My knees got weak. I got lightheaded and I started sinking to the floor!”

Show Me Cash drawings are held daily at 8:59 p.m., with jackpots starting at $50,000 and grow until won. Tonight’s jackpot is estimated at $320,000.

In FY24, players in Jackson County won more than $109.8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $9.8 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $22 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
