A Missouri Lottery player in St. Francois County has the “Scratch The Back” bonus feature on his “Joker’s Wild” ticket to thank for his $100,000 Scratchers prize.

“It’s been my favorite game since the beginning. I like the tickets with the bonus spots on the back,” the winner explained of his decision to purchase the $5 ticket at Miller Quick Stop, 1601 St. Francois Road, in Bonne Terre.

“I scratched the front, and I flipped it over. I don’t scratch the prize amount until I’m done,” he explained.

He uncovered five “Joker” symbols on the bonus play area – each one holding a $20,000 prize. The result was one of the game’s $100,000 top prizes.
The winner shared he’d been going through a rough patch and had asked God to help him through it. 

“I prayed the night before, and the next morning when I came home, I scratched that ticket in my driveway. I just cried,” he shared.

“Joker’s Wild” started on May 30. So far, players have won over $14 million playing the $5 ticket. Over $5.1 million in prizes remain unclaimed in the game, including one additional top prize of $100,000.

In FY23, players in St. Francois County won more than $12.9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.2 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $2.5 million in Lottery proceeds went to educational programs in the county.
