A Scratchers player in Worth County thought she was mistaken after uncovering a $50,000 top prize in the Missouri Lottery “Fruit Loot” game.

“It was just one of those things,” she explained. “I was scratching and thought, ‘Oh crap, I scratched the wrong one!’ because the prize said it was $50,000.”

“I thought I mixed one up,” she laughed. “I triple-, quadruple-checked to make sure!”

She purchased the winning ticket at Country Corners, 110 E 2nd St. in Grant City. She plans to pay off student loans with the winnings.

“Fruit Loot” is a $3 game that currently offers over $5.4 million in unclaimed prizes, including two other top prizes of $50,000. 

In FY23, players in Worth County won more than $212,000 in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received over $21,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $258,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
