A Missouri Lottery player won a $199,000 Show Me Cash jackpot after using a set of numbers with a special meaning in the Aug. 16 drawing.

“I lost my husband several years ago and the numbers are all related to him,” she explained. “I think I’m still in shock,” she said. “It was like a gift from Heaven.”

The winning ticket –  purchased at Kum & Go, 1505 N. National Ave. in Springfield – matched all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot prize.

Show Me Cash is drawn daily at 8:59 p.m., with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until won. Tonight’s jackpot is estimated at $230,000.

In FY23, players in Greene County won more than $50 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $4.5 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $27.6 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
