Aug 01, 2023

A Powerball player still can’t believe she won a $50,000 prize on a Quick Pick ticket for the July 19 drawing. The winning ticket was purchased at Quik Trip, 6835 E. Truman Road, in Kansas City.

The next morning before heading to work, she checked the winning numbers on her phone and realized she had won.

“I looked at the phone, and looked at the ticket, and I’m saying yeah!” the winner explained. “It still just ain’t ringing real.”

She shared she only plays Powerball when then the jackpot gets high, adding that the experience was “just a shock.”

Her ticket matched four of the five white-ball numbers drawn, as well as the Powerball number. The winning numbers were 7, 10, 11, 13 and 24, with a Powerball of 24.

Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is estimated at $95 million. If the Powerball jackpot is hit, the “Jackpot Reset” promotion will be activated – giving players who buy three Powerball plays on a single ticket a free $2 Powerball ticket.

In FY22, players in Jackson County won more than $103.1 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $9.3 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $50.2 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
