A Missouri Lottery player won a $50,000 prize on a “500X” Scratchers ticket he purchased at Phillips 66, 7 N.E. Outer Road in Wright City, on his way to work.

 “I buy them every now and again, so I had that one sitting there while I was at work,” the player said.

Once he got home, he began to scratch it off and quickly realized he had won something big.

“I kept seeing all these zeros! I tried to call my wife but of course she didn’t pick up,” he laughed.

When he finally got ahold of her, she shared in his surprise.

“I was just shocked!” she said.

So far, “500X” players have won over $12.6 million in prizes playing the $50 game since it launched on May 30. Over $244.9 million remain in unclaimed prizes, including all three top prizes of $5 million, six $1 million prizes and 47 more $50,000 prizes. 

In FY22, players in Warren County won more than $4.9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $512,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $951,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
