Show Me Cash Winner Couldn’t Believe it was Real

While on his way to work, a Missouri Lottery player stopped at Petro Mart, 11900 Dorsett Road in Maryland Heights, and purchased a Show Me Cash ticket for the May 24 drawing. That stop turned out to be a $137,000 decision.

“I like playing Show Me Cash when I can,” the player shared as he claimed his prize at the Lottery’s St. Louis office.

He explained how he had checked his numbers – 2, 4, 5, 13 and 32 – on the Missouri Lottery mobile app and saw a message he hadn’t seen before.

“It said something like, ‘Go to Lottery Office,” he recalled. “I knew I must have won something big.”

He confirmed that his numbers matched the winning numbers drawn for that drawing, but he said he still couldn’t believe it.

“I kept checking it to make sure it was real,” he added.

Show Me Cash is drawn daily at 8:59 p.m., with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until won. Tonight’s jackpot is estimated at $473,000.

In FY22, players in St. Louis County won more than $205.1 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $19.5 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $39 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
