A Missouri Lottery player in Bates County got a well-timed surprise when he won a $50,000 prize on a “Millionaire Blowout” Scratchers game.

He purchased the ticket at White Oak Station, 1115 W. Fort Scott St. in Butler, and scratched it off once he got home.

“I was tickled just to get it,” he said. “It will help out in a lot of ways.”

So far, “Millionaire Blowout” players have won over $203.9 million in prizes playing the $50 game. Over $143.7 million remain in unclaimed prizes, including one top prize of $5 million, nine $1 million prizes and 20 more $50,000 prizes.

In FY22, players in Bates County won more than $2.9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $199,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $304,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
