$100,000 Scratchers Prize Feels Like Multiple Wins

Feb 08, 2023

An unplanned Scratchers purchase in Taney County led to the discovery of a $100,000 top prize in the Missouri Lottery’s “$100,000 Money Multiplier” game.

The soon-to-be winner purchased several tickets from a vending machine at Country Mart, 12720 Highway 60 in Forsyth, and decided to scratch them later.

As he played the third ticket, a $20,000 prize was uncovered. He thought this was his full prize amount, but further scratching revealed second and third prizes of $20,000 as well. Now thinking he had won $60,000, he began telling his family before finishing the ticket entirely. Shortly after, two more $20,000 prizes were revealed, bringing the total to $100,000.

The winner commented that each prize felt like a separate win, increasing the excitement as each was revealed.
“$100,000 Money Multiplier” is a $5 Scratchers game with more than $11 million in unclaimed prizes, including three other $100,000 top prizes.

Missouri Lottery tickets sold in Taney County in the last fiscal year resulted in more than $11.8 million in prizes for players. More than $1.1 million was returned to retailers in the forms of sales commissions and bonuses, and an additional $1.2 million in Lottery funds went to educational programs in the county.
