A Missouri Lottery player in Malden knew he won a $100,000 prize on a “Red Hot Cash” Scratchers ticket before even scratching the second line.

“I had two matching numbers right beside each other. I scratched them both off, and they were $10,000 and $5,000,” he recalled, describing how he scratched the rest of the top row and saw his prizes adding up to $100,000 – one of the game’s top prizes.

“Red Hot Cash” is a $5 game that currently offers over $8.5 million in unclaimed prizes, including two more $100,000 top prizes.

The winning ticket was purchased at Casey’s General Store, 401 W. Main St., in Malden.

In FY22, players in Dunklin County won more than $10.6 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $867,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $416,000 in Lottery proceeds went to educational programs in the county.
