A Powerball player turned a $50,000 prize into a $100,000 win using the Power Play feature. His ticket for the Dec. 28 drawing originally won a $50,000 prize when it matched four of the white-ball numbers drawn, as well as the Powerball number. Since the player also added the Power Play option to the play, his winnings were instantly doubled to $100,000 when the Power Play number drawn was 2.

The ticket was purchased at Motomart Convenience Store, 11005 Riverview Drive, in St. Louis.

The winning numbers on Dec. 28 were 26, 32, 38, 45 and 56, with a Powerball number of 1.

Powerball is a $2 per play multi-state Draw Game with drawings held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. All current and past winning numbers can be found at MOLottery.com.

In FY22, players in St. Louis City won more than $46.6 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $4.7 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $9.4 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
