A Missouri Lottery player won a $50,000 Scratchers prize after his father gifted him a “Fruit Loot” ticket he purchased at Town & Country Supermarket, 117 Highway 32, in Licking.

“We couldn’t think of anything to get each other for Christmas, so we both just got each other Lottery tickets,” the player shared.

After scratching the ticket off, he recalled being in a state of shock, realizing he’d won one of the game’s top prizes.

“I just looked at the ticket and kept staring at it,” the winner said. “It turned out to be a heck of a Christmas gift.”

He plans to use the money to purchase farming equipment and livestock.

Fruit Loot” is a $3 game that launched in December.  It currently has over $12.2 million in unclaimed prizes, including five more top prizes of $50,000.

In the last fiscal year, players who purchased tickets in Texas County won more than $4.4 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers in the county received more than $441,000 in commissions and bonuses, and education programs in the county received more than $489,000 in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
