“It was an once-in-a-lifetime thing!” the winner of a $100,000 Missouri Lottery Scratchers prize shared. “It was a pretty nice day if you could imagine.”

The winner said he had stopped at Midtown 66, 524 1st Capitol Drive in St. Charles, after buying groceries and purchased a “$100,000 Fortune” Scratchers ticket. Later that evening, at home with his wife, he uncovered the first of the game’s six top prizes.

He laughed when asked how she handled the big news.

“I said, ‘Babe, I just hit $5,000! Babe, I just hit another $5,000! Babe! Babe!’ and so on,” he chuckled. “She thought I was kidding because I do it to her a lot.”

They plan to use some of the winnings to purchase another vehicle.

In the FY22, players who purchased tickets in St. Charles County won more than $64.3 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers in the county received more than $6.2 million in commissions and bonuses, and education programs in the county received more than $14 million in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
