A Missouri Lottery player decided to try her luck with a “Millionaire Blowout” Scratchers ticket and left with a $50,000 prize. 

The player recalled being hesitant to purchase the Scratchers ticket in the beginning, but she was feeling lucky and decided to go for it, purchasing the winning ticket at Jesse’s Last Stop, 3807 Churchill Ct., in St. Joseph.

When the final prize was fully uncovered, the winner was immediately filled with excitement.

“I looked at my daughter and blurted out, ‘I just won $50,000!”’ she said.

The winner shared plans to use the money towards a down payment on a new home.

“Millionaire Blowout” is a $50 Scratchers ticket that started on Jan. 31. The game offers prizes ranging from $50 up to top prizes of $5 million. Currently, there are over $220.1 million in unclaimed prizes in the game, including two top prizes, 14 $1 million prizes and 32 additional prizes of $50,000.

In FY22, players in Buchanan County won more than $26 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.6 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $3.7 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
