A Show Me Cash player in Olivette was disheartened after hearing the $283,000 jackpot from the Jan. 13 drawing had been won. That all changed when he realized he was the lucky winner holding the jackpot ticket.
“I was upset because I noticed someone had won and didn’t think it was me,” he recalled. “Two days later, I checked my numbers and said, ‘Oh my God!’”
The Quick Pick ticket he purchased at On the Run, 9371 Olive Road in Olivette, matched all five Show Me Cash numbers drawn – 10, 20, 22, 23 and 34 – to win the $283,000 prize.
“I had to look at it about 20 times,” he laughed.
The winner plans to use some of his winnings to travel more in retirement.
Show Me Cash is drawn daily at 8:59 p.m., with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until won. Tonight’s Show Me Cash jackpot is $456,000.
In FY22, players who purchased tickets in St. Louis County won more than $205.1 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Lottery retailers in the county received more than $19.5 million in commissions and bonuses, and education programs in the county received more than $39 million in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
