A Missouri Lottery player who decided to purchase a “$2,000,000 Sizzling Riches” Scratchers ticket on a whim at FastLane, 3066 S. Clark St. in Mexico, is now a $100,000 winner.
“I walked in there and on impulse said, ‘Give me one of these,’” he explained. “I bought it, got out to the truck and scratched it while I was pumping gas, and there it was!”
The winner shared his plans to cover college expenses for his daughter with the winnings.
“She’s in her last year … and this is awesome. It’s gonna help so much,” he shared.
“$2,000,000 Sizzling Riches” is a $20 Scratchers game that offers prizes ranging from $20 to $2 million. Currently, there are over $32.1 million in unclaimed prizes in the game, including two more prizes of $100,000 and one top prize of $2 million.
In FY23, players in Audrain County won more than $4.9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $487,000 in commissions and bonuses, and more than $828,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
