After purchasing a “Millionaire Blowout” ticket at Phillips 66, 6095 Mexico Road in St. Peters, a mother and son claimed a $50,000 Scratchers prize.
The son purchased the ticket and then used the Missouri Lottery mobile app to see if it was a winner.
“It said I needed to go to the Lottery office,” he said. “My mind started racing and my hands started shaking!”
“I didn’t believe him at first,” the mother added. “It was like, ‘No, you fixed this somehow.’”
They added they were not sure what they will do with the prize money yet, though the mother had an idea.
“I do need a new BBQ grill!” she joked.
“Millionaire Blowout” is a $50 game that offers prizes up to $5 million. Players have won over $187.8 million prizes playing the game so far, with over $159.7 million remaining in unclaimed prizes, including two top prizes of $5 million, nine $1 million prizes and 21 more $50,000 prizes.
In FY22, players in St. Charles County won more than $64.3 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $6.2 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $14 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
