$2 Million Winner Plans to Donate Portion to Charity

Nov. 17, 2022

“This is a huge opportunity for me to give back,” the winner of a $2 million Mega Millions prize shared. “I don't want to be the only one to benefit from this.”

She plans to use a portion of the winnings to buy a new house and donate to charitable causes, including animal rescues, veterans programs and addiction rehabilitation.

The Missouri Lottery Mega Millions ticket she bought at Circle K, 3700 Elm St. in St. Charles, matched all five of the numbers drawn Oct. 28 to win a $1 million base prize. Since she also added Megaplier to her ticket, the $1 million prize was doubled to $2 million when the Megaplier number drawn was 2.

The numbers drawn that night were 4, 18, 31, 53 and 69, with a Mega Ball number of 7.

Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is estimated at $238 million.

Players who purchased tickets in St. Charles County in FY22 won more than $64.3 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers in the county received more than $6.2 million in commissions and bonuses in FY22, and education programs received more than $14 million in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
