CALIFORNIA MAN CLAIMS $10,000 ON ST. PATRICK'S DAY

Story Photo A California man had the "luck of the Irish" with him this St. Patrick’s Day when he claimed a Scratchers ticket prize worth $10,000.   Bill Westfall, 49, said he took some previous winning Missouri Lottery tickets to California Go Get It, 101 E. Buchanan in California, on March 15 to get cashed.  With the $12 in winnings, he bought $12 worth of Scratchers tickets, and the one $5 "Monte Carlo" ticket he bought turned out to be worth $10,000.

"We’re in the process of building a new house, so we will use this to buy some furniture," Westfall said.   Westfall is an assistant administrator at Missouri Vocation Enterprises.

"Monte Carlo," a $5 Scratchers game, officially went on March 1.
