KANSAS CITY POWERBALL PLAYER WINS HALF A MILLION

Someone who buys Missouri Lottery Powerball tickets in Kansas City may have found a "pot of gold" this St. Patrick’s Day.   One ticket, sold at Sun Fresh, 2415 E. Vivion Road in Kansas City, matched all five white-ball numbers drawn Saturday night to win the $100,000 prize.  In addition, Lottery records show that the player also spent an extra $1 to select the "Power Play" feature.  The Power Play number drawn on Saturday was "5," which means the lucky player will not just receive $100,000, but that amount times five for a total winnings of $500,000.  The five winning numbers are:  12, 30, 41, 45 and 52.

"Someone is in for a great St. Patrick’s Day," said Gary Gonder, communications director for the Missouri Lottery.   "This is the most anyone in Missouri has ever won using the Power Play feature."

Missouri Powerball players have exactly 180 days from the drawing date to claim prizes, which means this winner would have until Sept. 11, 2003.

If you find you have the winning ticket, be sure to sign the back and take it to the nearest Missouri Lottery office, located at 3630 Arrowhead Ave. in Independence.
