RETIRED CUSTODIAN WINS $25,000 INSTANTLY

Story Photo A former custodian for Fairview Elementary School in Columbia cleaned up on March 3 when he uncovered a $25,000 prize in the Missouri Lottery’s "Monopoly" Scratchers game.   Marvin Brown, 71, said he plans to use some of his winnings to buy a new suit, some new clothes and a new mattress.

"First, I’m going to buy me a steak dinner at G & D Steak House," he said.   Brown plans to put what’s left of his winnings in the bank.

Brown purchased his winning ticket at Break Time, 2101 W. Ash in Columbia.

The Missouri Lottery’s $2 "Monopoly" game officially started Feb. 1.
