Story Photo Playing Club Keno instead of golf recently paid off for three Moberly area men.   Richard Mayfield and Tim Spurling, both of Moberly, and Bud Hagar of Huntsville stopped for drinks at The Uptown Tavern in Moberly on Feb. 19.  While there, they each chipped in $10 to play 10 games of Club Keno and wound up winning $3,003.

"We usually play golf on Wednesday, but it was too cold," Mayfield said when he and Spurling claimed the group’s prize on Feb. 26.   The friends have been playing as a group for about a month.

The group won the prize by matching six of 20 numbers on a six-spot game.   Their winning numbers were:  8, 17, 22, 28, 57 and 75.

Mayfield, 43, owns a moving and storage company in Moberly.   Spurling, 45, is the owner and operator of TNT Auto in Moberly, and Hagar is a maintenance manager at a prison in Vandalia.

Club Keno began on May 28.  Players can win from $1 to $100,000 per $1 ticket per drawing.  For more information on the game, go to
